One time, I was walking to the side of my house. I don’t remember why. Then the mexicans that worked in our yard came with their leafblower blowing leaves. I walked away.
When I was little, this guy in a giant bee costume at Applebees literally was stalking me
What’s a random childhood memory you have that has no meaning to it?
1986 camaro mystery oil leak?
Ok, i was running my motor yesterday because i got a new temp gauge cuz i thought the old one was full of crap . The old one was hooked up right under one of the exhaust manifolds and the new one i put in the front of the intake ( where the last spot coolant has gone throught the motor) where it should have been. I was correct on my theory, the new one read 209ºF while i was holding a leaf blower against the radiator so i could help keep overheating back a little. theold gauge showed 300ºF. lifted the rad. cap relief clip…. it did not bubble like it was at 300 haha. anyways… i wass fiddling with the electric fan ( it stopped working so i took it out, and why i had the leafblower going) and just made sure it had still broken by hotwiring it and oh it decided to turn on, so as i leaned under the car to grab the mounting bolts for it, i look down towards the middle underside of the car and i see a stream of something ( a lot of something ) faaling to the ground, and was like "well thats bad" me and my friend couldnt figure out where it was coming from ( it turned out to be oil cuz i pulled the dipstick after that and showed barely anything) but i dont know what broke or where the leak is.. the only area that it looked like it came from was the area under the master cylinder right in front of the drivers side of the firewall. I’m stumped guys i have know idea what it is. i thought a seal might have gone out or a line broke but im not sure of all the areas oil flows while an engine is running. If anybody knows what happened please let me know, i just hate looking at it and not knowing whats happened. Thanks!!!!
It was oil, i ran my finger in it and i sprayed it with a water jet to run it off the driveway and it got all frothy milkshake like, i know it was oil, it was just odd cuz it was cool to the touch, and the motor was running for about 15 minutes and i didnt let it get over 215-220.
We cant trace it to anywhere, i have no idea what broke where, i can look again this afternoon since the car will be cool now but i looked forever and found nothing, i thought the spot might be hidden from sight
i dont think its burning it, it didnt smoke the tailpipes and its all over the ground under the car.
The oil pressure sending unit is located near the distributor on the GEN 1 Chevy Small Block V8. Look there first.
Either you broke it while you were working under the hood or the sensor just simply failed.
What should I do about street noise?
Dear Yahoo! I’m at a loss here, so I’m taking a poll. Scroll down to the bottom for TL;DR version. I don’t expect anybody to read all of this.
I live in a major city on a street that is usually very quiet. I’ve lived here for about 15 years and it has always been completely silent. For the past two months, however, there has been a ridiculous increase in the number of construction projects that are going on in my area. My apartment is slightly below street level, but it is not completely underground; the top of my window opens to the street.
Across the street from me they have been in the process of demolishing part of the building.
In a completely unrelated project, constructions crews have been digging up the street just outside my window using jackhammers for some reason or another.
At the end of my block, there is some project going on involving a crane and more jackhammers. The entire street has been closed for much of the past two months because of this. At least this means there is no noise from automobiles…
The apartment immediately upstairs from me has had the floor torn out by building management and for the past two months they have been replacing it, using hammers, electric saws and drills.
My neighbour across the hall has been having his floors remodeled as well, again using hammers, electric saws and drills.
The building management has hired outside contractors to repair a drainage issue in my building, which uses jackhammers, electric drills and something that the contractor referred to as a "sewer snake", which makes a loud grinding noise at all hours of the day as it traverses the pipes.
From outside my building, you can’t tell that my window is actually a window to a residence — it has more of an industrial look — and as a result, people often congregate there during lunch and smoking breaks and talk loudly. There are also many bars and taverns in my area, so drunk individuals also gather around my window at night as well, usually to argue loudly. There’s a sign posted outside the front door the the apartment building, which is close to my window, posted by building management, that informs passersby that the building is, indeed, residential and should be treated as such. It doesn’t help much though.
I live in North America, so it’s autumn here and while all this has been going on, my neighbour in the building next door has started to use a gasoline-powered leafblower everyday starting at 5:00 AM to remove the leaves from the street (public streets, not his property and thus not his responsibility). He takes many breaks and does the work bit by bit throughout the day, which actually makes it worse, since the onset of the noise and gasoline odor is unpredictable.
All of these activities begin between 3:00 AM and 7:00 AM in the morning. The building/construction/demolition work generally ends around 5:00 or 6:00 PM. The leafblowing activities continue intermittently until about 12:00 PM.
Sitting in my apartment is louder than sitting in a subway station as a train approaches. I own my apartment, however, so it is not plausible to simply move out. I’ve complained to my neighbour and informed him that his leafblowing is actually in violation of city noise regulations, which is, in fact, true. I’ve also asked building management about some of the various other construction projects in my building and been informed that they were all supposed to have been finished more than a month ago.
To add insult to injury, my apartment reeks of gasoline because of the leafblower guy. It’s like a gas station, but worse, since the smell is concentrated in a very small space. You can’t get that smell out…
What would Yahoo! do if in my situation? I know it seems cartoonish in the sheer volume of irritating noises around here, but I assure you that every one of these projects have been going on for at least two months. Other projects actually began and have ended, such as some work on the staircase the leads from street level down to my apartment.
TL;DR: My apartment is bombarded by loud noises at all hours of the day. What to do? Creative and/or joke answers will help to cheer me up, as all this has put me in very grumpy mood indeed.
Ok I actual read all that and now regret that I did
Ummm ok your if its real suck a$$
I think yahoo would excute them all
Is there a way I can …?
make a vacuum machine blow out instead of suck in even though It doesnt have that setting or what can work as strong and stable as a vaccum blow but not a leafblower.?
are you stuck in a compromising position?
there is no easy fix mate, you will need to go (with the appliance of course) to your local fire station.
Wear a brown paper bag on your head to minimise your (and their) embarassment.
Awroit Tibby, welcome back! its hanging good mate
how can im make my laptop fan quiet?
it sounds like a leafblower its soooo obnoxiously loud. id like it to have virtually no sound, how do i tone it down?
boot your computer up through the bios settings and turn the "cooling method" to optimize battery. that will keep the fan on a lower setting. itl make it a small bit slower and hotter but quieter. if you don’t know how to open the bios settings just web search: [your computer model] open bios settings
Leafblower help?
After I replaced the throttle cable, and cleaned the carburetor, my Shindaiwa has been acting funny. The machine does not run like it used to when I move the choke handle away from choke to use it. When I put the handle in the normal running position, the machine just chokes down and dies. In other words, the position has been moved. So now I must turn up the throttle and play with the choke handle until I find the spot for the blower to work. What is the problem?
the only thing i can think of is did you get the cable back in the right hole on the carb linkage if you didn’t that will cause it to do that,i replaced the one on my chain saw and did this, and it wouldn’t run in the normal position,it took a few try,s before i realized what i had done, you can try that it might be whats wrong with it,it will cause it to flood out sort of if it isn’t in the right position, and it wont idle right either, good luck.
Where can I find a parts manual for a Hoffco leafblower? Thanks Stephen?
Model # is HB-250
Try hoffco.com or a web search for Hoffco and look for manuals you can download.
Buying a Backpack leafblower?
Ok im looking for a backpack leafleafblower. I have had a handheld echo blower for three years, but know have recently moved to a place with a ton of trees, which means alot of leaves, and the handheld is ok, but would like some more power, and it also gets tiring. Ive been impressed with echo, but ive seen other brands too and heard from different people saying others are better than some. So im looking at either, Shindaiwa, Kawasaki, Echo, or Stilth. I see alot of yard care places using the stilth, is this because they are good, or just good price. Which one would be the best choice for moving lots of leaves, has lots of power THANKS

Small engine, leafblower question?
How many pounds of compression is needed for small engine to fire? I have a craftsman leafblower, and it currently has 85lbs of compression is this the reason it wont start. Or is it enough, do i just need to rebuild the carb? its atleast 8 years old
thats fine if the fuel and ignition is fine. it may be a hard starter, but itll go.have you checked fire and fuel?does it have a reed valve?if it does, replace it while you do fuel and itll run a few more yrs maybe.
An animated music video i watched a few years back contains a man with a leafblower wrecking havok on stuff?
What’s the name and possibly a link? He tumbles a house of cards at the end, thats all i really remember.
That would be "Good Song" by Blur. At least I’m fairly certain it is.
